A Long Haul

I went to the doctor's today- he took another x-ray and removed my bandages. Ouch! He was pleased with the way my foot it healing and even said that I could now get my foot wet. I'll return in a little over a week to have the stitches taken out. (I was surprised at how long the incision was! The doctor said he had to push my bones back into place before placing pins in them. It was a little bit of work.)

The shock came when the doctor told me that I could not put complete weight on my foot for three to four weeks! Ummm... and what do I do with the littles running around my house? The doctor was unwilling to babysit during the day while Eric is at work- I asked. :) So, we turned to our number one babysitter. Nanny! My mother will come to visit for a month. While we know that she is delighted to serve us, we also know that separation from your husband is never fun. (Not to mention to work of having to care for littles!) We are so thankful to the Lord for a mother who is willing to serve us!!!

This has been a little hard to swallow but it has been good for me. (The Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks that Eric bought me earlier helped. Yummy!) I like to have my world in order, running according to my MOTH schedule. I like to be BUSY. The Lord has forced me to let that go so many times this year- Jonathan's birth, numerous doctor appointments for Jonathan, surgeries, illnesses & recovery. Resting in His will... it is a lesson I'm learning ever so slowly.
