Simple Women's Daybook: March 1, 2010

FOR TODAY
March 1, 2010...

Outside my window... it's dark and cold- we're expecting snow tomorrow. Yuck!
I am thinking... that I should go to bed even though I'd like to stay up till the wee hours of the morning.
I am thankful for... tax returns. :)
From the learning rooms... catching up on lapbooks this week for history. Fun!
From the kitchen... dishes didn't get done tonight b/c I was too busy folding mounds of laundry.
I am wearing... pjs.
I am creating... organizing photos to do more scrapbooking next week.
I am going... to help Patricia finish making her gift for Jonathan tomorrow. What joy to see my daughter delight in creating things for others!
I am reading... "The Backyard Homestead" edited by Carleen Madigan. (Even Eric is excited about this!)
I am hoping... to do some ironing this week.
I am hearing... my dear, dear hubby whisle Suzuki tunes. Not so endearing but I still love him!
Around the house... mounds of folded laundry await the children for the morning!
One of my favorite things... hearing Lizzie sing. SO ADORABLE!!!
A few plans for the rest of the week: celebrate Jonathan's birthday at the Georgia Aquarium. Benjamin goes back to the orthodontist this Friday.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing... Jonathan helping Daddy build bookshelves (taken this past summer right after we moved in):

Go Jonathan! I forgot to get his card in the mail today ... hopefully tomorrow. Otherwise, Happy 4! It is an exciting age, is it not?

I'm going to iron tomorrow. I folded laundry today. Fun stuff :)

A great book that you might enjoy..."Back to Basics: traditional Kitchen Wisdom: Techniques and Recipes for Living a Simpler, More Sustsainable Life" edited by Andrea Chesman. I love carbonated 100% fruit beverages, but they are so expensive...since I have a juicer, we are going to get a carbonator so i can carbonate my own juices. But it has so much more information from pickling to jams, jellies etc...including how to freeze practically all vegetables and fruits...tells you which ones need to be blanched first and which ones don't etc...

Happy Birthday Jonathan!
