Simple Woman's Daybook: June 20, 2011

FOR TODAY
June 20, 2011...

Outside my window... it's going to be HOT again (96!)- I should go water the hanging plants now.
I am thinking... over our food budget & meal planning.
I am thankful... for email to quickly keep in touch with friends.
From the learning rooms... learning about John Cabot & Amerigo Vespucci this week.
From the kitchen... yummy, fresh zucchini from the farmer's market for dinner.
I am wearing... brown dress.
I am creating... same things. Trying to finish organizing the craft room so I can sew.
I am going... to start blanket time with Abigail today. Somehow, I missed doing this training with her!
I am reading... "Real Food on a Real Budget", "A Love That Multiplies" & "Overcoming Fear, Worry, and Anxiety"
I am hoping... to pick & freeze organic blueberries this week. They're only $8 a gallon! :)
I am hearing... children chatter at the breakfast table.
Around the house... on eBay, I found discontinued, new curtains that match ones we own for our bedroom. Yeah!
One of my favorite things... my front loader washing machine.
A few plans for the rest of the week: friends come for art, Contenders & Keepers, hopefully blueberry picking.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing... nope.

Blanket time is a way that I've taught our littles to sit still & play by themself for a set period of time. It starts w/ 10 minutes & I work towards 1/2 hour. They sit on a blanket or towel w/ a few toys I give them & they can't move from that spot till I say.

Of course, I teach them to sit still in my lap during teaching times & family worship but this is a good way to let them play by themself while I do somehting & I do not have to fear what they've gotten into! ;)

(Blanket time is later replaced with room time.)

We'll expect some blueberry cobler when we come in October! We'll even make it for you after you return home from the hospital with that baby girl.
