Memory Work: Week of September 12, 2011

This is a CRAZY busy week, so I'm not sure how consistent we are going to be with our memory time. :( But, we do have some new things to fold in & that always motivates me (and the children!).

Memory Work for the week of September 12, 2011:

Bible: we are working on the last section of the sixth day of Creation, Genesis 1:29-31. Jonathan is working on the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13); Elizabeth on Psalm 121. We are also reviewing the Nicene Creed this week, memorizing the character quality "diligence," and Veritas Press Bible card #6.

Catechism: Everyone needs to recite to Daddy so we can move on... For the Children's Catechism, Abigail is working on number 2; Elizabeth & Jonathan #36 & beyond; Matthias #137 & beyond. For the Westminster Shorter Catechism, Benjamin #62 & beyond and Mama is reviewing #11-20. For the Heidelberg Catechism, Patricia is working #1.

Songs: Amazing Grace; Middle States for geography; WSC song #17.

Poetry & Rhyme: A Psalm of Life by Henry Wordsworth Longfellow. Jonathan and Elizabeth are working on Days of the Week.

Miscellaneous: We'll continue with skip counting, added 3 more states so we are at 18 now & personal information (phone number, address, parent's names). For science, we are memorizing the characteristics of mammals & reptiles.

Today's video is Jonathan reciting the poem Caterpillar by Christina Rossetti, adapted by Sara Buffington:
