Memory Work: Week of September 5, 2011

I was pretty weak last week, so I rested quit a bit. Memory time didn't happen as often as it should, so a lot of the same stuff this week.

Memory Work for the week of September 5, 2011:

Bible: we are reviewing Genesis 1:1-28 this week to make sure we have it down before going on. Jonathan is working on the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Elizabeth has moved on to Psalm 121. We are also reviewing the Nicene Creed this week, memorizing the character quality "diligence," and Veritas Press Bible card #5.

Catechism: For the Children's Catechism, Abigail is working on number 2; Elizabeth & Jonathan #36 & beyond; Matthias #137 & beyond. For the Westminster Shorter Catechism, Benjamin #62 & beyond and Mama is reviewing #11-20. Patricia finished her catechism Sunday! YAHOO! So, she is beginning #1 of the Heidelberg Catechism.

Songs: Holy, Holy, Holy; Middle States for geography; WSC song #17.

Poetry & Rhyme: A Psalm of Life by Henry Wordsworth Longfellow.

Miscellaneous: hmmm... I really need to sit down & decide what to do with this section. We'll continue with skip counting, 15 states & personal information (phone number, address, parent's names).

Today's video is Abigail reciting her catechism (she still has to repeat me for #2 and, yes, she almost always claps for herself):
