History Projects

Slowly but surely, we're making our way through the American Revolution unit study from Homeschool in the Woods. This unit study combines short readings with various projects, including a lapbook. I add in lots of extra reading to flesh out these studies. We're moving far too slow through these lessons but that's the reality around these parts.

The following are some images I snapped of the children putting together a biography booklet on Patrick Henry for their lapbooks. You might get the sense that we were a bit crowded and you would be right. :) It was tricky to get good shots with so much & so many in one small space.

These first few pictures make me smile- ever sense Eric gave these gloves to Benjamin, he wants to wear them 24/7. I also love how Emily loves to imitate the older children & "copy" her sentences from the whiteboard also:

I promise her hair starts out brushed in the mornings... well, at least most mornings. She's not ready for copywork yet but she enjoys coloring & joining in where she can:

It's almost his birthday & he can't wait to be double digits:

Very serious as she tries to get that copywork just right:

On this day, she actually wanted to be in most of the pictures:

Oh, this poor boy! Allergy season has begun & it's not fun. :( Just look at his eyes:
