Memory Work for the week of August 29, 2011:
Bible: we are all working on day 6 of creation, specifically verses 26-28 of Genesis 1. Jonathan & Elizabeth are working on the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). They seem to know most (all?) of it already- probably from hearing it so often. Yeah! We are also reviewing the Apostle's Creed this week, memorizing the character quality "diligence," and Veritas Press Bible card #5.
Catechism: For the Children's Catechism, Abigail is working on number 2, Elizabeth #32 & beyond, Jonathan #34 & beyond. For the Westminster Shorter Catechism, Patricia is working on #97 & beyond, Benjamin #60 & beyond and Mama is reviewing #11-20 (I once had them all memorized so I'm going back and reviewing chunks).
Songs: most of us already know Holy, Holy, Holy but a few needed to get the last few lines, so that is our hymn for the week. Our devotional is covering WSC #17, so that is the song for the week. (I LOVE how Matthias is memorizing these just from singing even before he is finished with the other catechism!) For Latin, we are learning the Nomen Song. We're learning the Middle States for geography.
Poetry & Rhyme: A Psalm of Life by Henry Wordsworth Longfellow.
Miscellaneous: skip counting for math- Matthias is trying to get faster with 3s. Added 3 more states for geography (we're memorizing the locations, abbreviations & capitals), so we're up to 15.
Now for the FUN! Here is Elizabeth reciting Psalm 100 (ignore her constant head bobbing):

Very nice. My children were excited to see Miss Lizzie :)
There are no new ideas on the internet ;)
Oh, Lizzie we loved your recitation!
How sweet, the bobbing of the head is sweet. Such treasures to have in the heart. Mom
