Memory Work: Week of November 7, 2011

Errr. A long break from memory time means we need to do a lot of review this week.

Memory Work for the week of November 7, 2011:

Bible: we are working Genesis 1:29-31. Jonathan and Elizabeth are working on Psalm 121. We are also reviewing the books of the Bible this week, reviewing character qualities, and Veritas Press Bible card #7.

Catechism: For the Children's Catechism, Abigail is working on number 3; Elizabeth & Jonathan #38 & beyond; Matthias is finishing the last 2!. For the Westminster Shorter Catechism, Benjamin #62 & beyond and Mama is reviewing #1-20. For the Heidelberg Catechism, Patricia is working #1 & beyond. She is also reviewing the entire WSC each day.

Songs: Amazing Grace; Southern Border Capitals for geography; WSC song #18; Nomen Song for Latin.

Poetry & Rhyme: still waiting for Matthias to get A Psalm of Life by Henry Wordsworth Longfellow finished. Jonathan & Elizabeth are reviewing this week. I'm considering letting everyone move along at their own pace verses keeping them together.

Miscellaneous: We'll continue with skip counting, 18 different states & personal information (phone number, address, parent's names). For science, we are memorizing the characteristics of amphibians & insects.

Here is a video of Matthias reciting the geography song Pacific States (You'll notice his two front teeth missing- he lost one yesterday.):

That is the one thing I don't look forward to after our break, reviewing all that memory work.

I try to be consitent w/ memory time even when we are on a break but it didn't happen as much as I had hoped towards the end of my pregnancy. :( Oh, well. 3 days into reviewing & they are doing better.
