Simple Woman's Daybook: May 14, 2012

FOR TODAY
May 14, 2012

Outside my window... rainy & grey today. Sun the rest of the week!

I am thinking... about taking the children to the zoo this week. Shhh!

I am thankful... that my brother Russell has confessed his faith Jesus Christ as his Savior! PRAISE GOD for His mercies!!!

In the kitchen... grilled whole chicken for dinner. Yum!

I am wearing...  black buttoned shirt with a long skirt.

I am creating... this shawl for Abigail's Christmas gift. The yarn is lovely.

I am going... to wake my littles after this post. A grey morning equals sleeping in. :)

From the learning rooms... ordering books and supplies today. Everyone is eager for our packages to arrive! :) New stuff is so encouraging!

I am reading... The Hidden Life of Prayer on my iPad.

I am hoping... my parents enjoy their vacation this week!

I am looking forward to... quiet time today. Lots of MP3 talks to listen to this week as we work on projects.

I am learning... latin! :) Trying to be diligent & consitent in learning with the children. Glad Benjamin has just begun at the beginning so I can catch up. (And equally glad Patricia does so well on her own!)

Around the house... things look pretty good. I should get to the bathrooms today though.

I am pondering... how classical education looks different than education and which our home education truly reflects.

A favorite quote for today... "O brother, pray; in spite of Satan, pray; spend hours in prayer; rather neglect friends than not pray; rather fast, and lose breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper- and sleep too- than not pray. And we must not talk about prayer, we must pray in right earnest. The Lord is near. He comes softly while the virgins slumber." - A. A. Bonar

One of my favorite things... our new iPhones! :)

A few plans for the rest of the week: Benjamin has an eye appt. That's it! :) Maybe the zoo?

A peek into my day... Uncle Russell with Emily:

Rejoicing with you concerning Russell. Shared the news with Ryan, who has also returned to living for Christ. God is faithful to work in His time. Hugs to all the Tullys and Harrises!

Oh, that makes us so happy to hear about Ryan! God is so good! It's encouraging too- I'm reminded to never loose hope or stop praying! God's timing is perfect- I need to yield to it with joy! How good to know He is in control!
