Eric and I just wanted to write and say how very, very thankful we are for all the prayers and encouragement we have received this past week! Eric has never talked on the phone for so long as he did last week from all the phone calls he received. :)
God is good during this time of uncertainty. For the most part, our emotions have been calm. After sitting down together to look over our budget, Eric and I knew we had to let piano lessons go until he gets another job. Calling Mrs. Palmer, our piano instructor, was very emotional for me. Shopping for groceries tends to bring out the tears also- trying to make every penny stretch as we eat healthy isn't easy but it is a good lesson to learn. And God is faithful- we are not going hungry! :) Learning to live more frugal & realizing how much we use to spend on little things are good life lessons.
Eric has applied for a few jobs but not heard anything yet. It has been fun to have Daddy home all day and especially helpful for me. I had hoped to get us back on schedule this week but it didn't happen. (We did get a lot of things done though!) Eric and I realize that the children especially need this, so we hope to do that on Monday.
One of our pastors came today to encourage & pray with us- this was especially good! He read from Philippians 4:4-9. This is going to be our new memory work- we need to learn to rejoice in all things, to meditate on what God honors, to not be anxious but instead be thankful. The Lord is working in our family through this trial and, for that, we are extremely thankful!
